The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Siddiqui Khan alias Suleman Khan, the alleged mastermind of a big gang that grabbed land worth crores of rupees in Goa. The accused Siddiqui Khan, resident of Karwar, Karnataka, has been arrested by the ED on Thursday (July 16, 2026) under the PMLA Act.
what is the whole matter?
According to ED, the accused and his associates had captured valuable lands of Goa by preparing fake and old dated documents. In many cases, ownership in government records was changed by creating fake documents in the names of dead or fictitious people instead of the real owners of the land. After this, an attempt was made to sell and develop these lands, from which a huge amount was earned.
What was revealed in ED investigation?
Investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has revealed that the gang had fraudulently occupied valuable land of about 25 hectares (about 62.5 acres). The agency has so far estimated illegal earnings of at least Rs 300 crore in this case. However, this amount may increase further after the final investigation in the case.
This investigation was started on the basis of several FIRs and charge sheets filed by Goa Police. The accused have been accused of forgery, fraud and illegal transfer of lands through fake documents.
North Goa Special PMLA The accused was presented in the court
After arresting the accused Siddiqui Khan alias Suleman Khan, the ED produced him in the special PMLA court located in North Goa, where the court sent him on five-day ED remand. Now the agency is interrogating him and trying to trace the entire network of money, seized properties and other people involved in this conspiracy. Along with this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is seriously investigating to get to the bottom of the matter.
