The third ODI match between India and England at Lord’s on Sunday may prove to be the last match of Rohit Sharma’s international career. However, till now neither any statement has come from Rohit Sharma nor from the selectors and team management on this issue. But these speculations gained momentum when it was revealed that Rohit Sharma’s parents have reached London. Usually, Rohit’s parents do not come to the field to watch his match.

According to CREX report, Rohit Sharma’s parents have already reached London amid rumors of retirement. The report further claimed that the senior batsman had arranged for his parents to come to the Lord’s ODI after learning about the selectors’ plans for his future.

‘Rohit Sharma has no role in the plans of 2027 World Cup’

According to an English newspaper, “The selection committee along with coach Gautam Gambhir had talked to Rohit Sharma about this last week. The selectors want to give a chance to young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, who have been waiting for their turn for a long time. The committee has also made it clear that it does not see any role for Rohit Sharma in the plans for the 2027 World Cup.

Another newspaper has written in its report, “According to the information we received, the selection committee has decided that after the England series, Rohit Sharma will not be the first choice opening batsman of the ODI team. Looking at the current situation, the third ODI to be played at Lord’s on Sunday could prove to be 39-year-old Rohit Sharma’s last match for India.
